Birchwood Forest Park | Oakwood Gate and Walled Garden | Birchwood Point and Boulevard | Around the Lakes For a few weeks during October and November, the changing colours of autumn have a dramatic impact on the area. The pictures on this page were all taken during November 2006. Other photos that I have taken of the changing colours on Pestfurlong Hill can be seen on the Encounter page and on the Gorse Covert Community Church website (external link, opens in new window). Birchwood Forest Park Oakwood Gate and Walled Garden Birchwood Point and Boulevard On Birchwood Point, there is a large stone which can be seen from Birchwood Way. I know nothing about its significance or history, but it is featured in several of the photographs here. Around the Lakes and Other Images There are two lakes next to each other, one maintained by the local angling club, the other with its carpet of green algae giving it a very strange appearance. More recently the lake has been cleaned up and at our last walk in the area, the water was perfectly clear. |
