April 2008 Overnight snow began to melt away quickly during the morning. These photos capture the scene in different areas of Birchwood before the snow had gone. March 2006 Early in March 2006, there was a very short-lived and unseasonal snowfall. Having fallen overnight and early in the morning, by mid-afternoon most of it had disappeared. In the few hours in between, we managed to get into the park with the camera. The first gallery on this page is a small selection from the pictures that I took. Click on the small pictures to open the large versions. Each large picture opens in a new browser window or tab. The pictures were all taken with a digital camera and have been cropped, re-sized and quality adjusted to 100-120 KB. December 2000 On 28th December 2000, we had the first significant snowfall for several years. An opportunity not to be missed, I went out with my camera to record the sudden transformation in my local park. Here's a selection of the pictures that I took within Birchwood Forest Park and along Birchwood Brook path. All of these images have been scanned from prints, as in those days I hadn't converted to digital photography. |
