A selection of scenes that captured the sights of Moelfre Lifeboat Day 2008, on 2nd August.

Larger picture opens in a new windowLarger picture opens in a new windowThe weather was mostly fine for Lifeboat Day 2008, with sunny intervals and a bit of a breeze.  This year the RAF helicopter arrived for a display of joint rescue operations with the Moelfre Lifeboats.  It was great to see the village as full as ever with visitors who came to the event.

The Inshore Lifeboat

Since the last Lifeboat Day, Moelfre's old D-class inshore boat Kingsand (D-532), has been replaced with a newer and more modern D-class boat, Enfys (D-689).  The pictures below show it being launched during the display.

Launch of the Robert and Violet

The launch of the Robert and Violet, Moelfre's Tyne Class All Weather Lifeboat numbered 47-013, was as spectacular as ever.

Rescue Display

The RAF helicopter was present this year for a display of joint rescue operations with the Moelfre Lifeboats.
