Moelfre,
Anglesey
Photo Galleries
Welcome to my Moelfre photo gallery
pages. I have more photos of Moelfre and elsewhere in Anglesey on my
Panoramio page www.panoramio.com/user/brian
(opens in a new window).
News: You can see images of Moelfre, other areas in Anglesey and right
across the UK on Google Street View. The new images went live on 12th
March 2010. You can also view my Panoramio images on Google, zooming and
panning in exactly the same way as Street View.
The Gallery Pages
Photographs
The pictures published on these pages are mainly digital
images, although there are also a few old scans from prints,
generally taken in or before 2002 and scanned around that time. The older
photos have mostly been replaced or re-scanned. All of the
photos are thumbnails and the larger versions (800x600 pixels) open in a new window
in your browser.
My Interest in Moelfre
My link with Moelfre goes
back many years. With other connections nearby, my grandparents moved to the village in the early 1960s. As they settled into
their new life in Moelfre my grandfather was able to enjoy his
retirement and my
grandmother had several jobs including helping out at the old general
store at the start of the lane to Lligwy. The store has long since disappeared. They died in the 1970s and are buried at
Llanallgo Parish Church. My first Christmas was spent just outside the
village and, as a child in the 1960s and
1970s, I can remember my family going to stay with them regularly at different
times of the year, so most of my early memories of holidays and my grandparents are of
time spent in Moelfre.
