Photographs The pictures published on these pages are mainly digital images, although there are also a few old scans from prints, generally taken in or before 2002 and scanned around that time. The older photos are gradually being replaced or re-scanned. All of the photos are thumbnails and the larger versions, mostly 800x600 pixels, open in a new window or tab, depending on your browser. We stayed to the village for a week's holiday in August 2007 including the Lifeboat Day. We also saw the boat launch later in the week when it was called out to a motorised yacht that had broken down. I hope to add photos from that rescue sometime in 2008. My Interest in Moelfre My link with Moelfre goes back many years. With other connections nearby, my grandparents moved to the village in the early 1960s. As they settled into their new life in Moelfre my grandfather was able to enjoy his retirement and my grandmother had several jobs including helping out at the general store at the start of the lane to Lligwy which has long since disappeared. They died in the 1970s and are buried at Llanallgo Parish Church. As a child in the 1960s and 1970s, I can remember my family going to stay with them regularly at different times of the year, so most of my early memories of holidays and my grandparents are of time spent in Moelfre. |
